Kenning Privacy Policy

Effective 1 August 2026. Last updated 1 August 2026.

Kenning is a word game published by OffByThree LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play it. The short version: we do not run accounts, we do not collect your personal information, and nothing you type in the game is sent to us.

What the game stores on your device

Your progress is saved locally on your device using standard app storage. That save contains only:

This save never leaves your device. We cannot read it. Deleting the app deletes it. We do not operate a server that receives your gameplay.

Advertising

The free version of the game shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Google is an independent controller of the data it collects through those ads and may use device identifiers, an advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data in order to serve and measure ads. We do not receive that data; we see only aggregate earnings reports.

How Google uses this information is described in Google's partner policy, and you can review Google's own privacy policy. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time through your device settings.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the game shows a Google consent form the first time it runs, and your choices there govern whether personalised ads are used. You can reopen that form at any time from Settings, under "privacy options".

Purchasing the ad removal stops all interstitial ads permanently on that Google account, and the optional rewarded ads become free actions that never play an ad.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play billing. We never see or store your name, card number, or billing address. Google tells the app only whether the ad removal has been bought, so that the entitlement can be restored automatically when you reinstall or change devices. Refunds and payment questions are handled by Google Play.

Reviews

The game may occasionally ask, through Google Play's own in-app review prompt, whether you would like to rate it. The prompt is displayed by Google Play. We are not told whether you reviewed the game or what you said.

Updates

The game checks a small update file hosted on GitHub Pages when it starts, so that content fixes can reach you without a store update. That is an ordinary web request. GitHub, as the host, records standard web server information such as your IP address; see GitHub's privacy statement. The request contains no information about you or your progress.

Analytics

The game contains no analytics or tracking software of our own. We do not use third party analytics services.

Children

Kenning is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Ad content is limited to a rating suitable for teen and general audiences.
